- Surgical debridement, to remove unhealthy tissue from around a wound to encourage healing
- Growth factor therapy, created with substances from your own blood that are highly concentrated and applied to the wound to speed healing
- Skin grafts and flaps, to place healthy tissue around the wound, often using microsurgery
- Revascularization, to help blood flow properly to the wound and surrounding area
- Limb-salvage surgery, to avoid major amputation for people with severe diabetic foot ulcers, infections and other serious complications
